CHURCH HISTORY
Mt. Olivet Baptist Church was founded in the early 20th century by Rev. Sedley E. Lee and Rochester's Third Ward citizens. Initially meeting in temporary locations, it was officially recognized in 1910 and later moved to its current site on Adams Street under Rev. Charles D. Hubert. Over the years, various pastors, including Rev. James E. Rose and Rev. Charles Boddie, led expansions, constructing a new church building in 1927 and the Mt. Olivet Education Building in 1958.

In 1967, Rev. Dr. Leardrew Johnson introduced key programs before retiring in 1989. His successors, Rev. Dwight E. Cook and later Rev. Rickey Bernard Harvey, oversaw further growth, including the completion of a new sanctuary in 1999. Today, Mt. Olivet Baptist Church remains devoted to its mission, upholding its legacy of faith and community service.
